Java Developer – Investment Banking – contract

I am looking for a Java Developer with background in Investment Banking for a hybrid 6 months rolling contract in London for a leading consultancy.

About the role:
The developer is responsible for all technical aspects of the applications including Market Data consumption, Algorithmic Price creation, and Price Distribution by closely working along with the Quant team.

Essential skills you bring:
?      Experience with Java version 11+
?      Understanding of interest rates products and trading practices.
?      Agile Development Practices (TDD, BDD, Automated Builds, Continuous Integration) / Scrum   Methodologies
?      Take ownership, help specify and deliver large scale projects and work under own initiative.
?      Detailed knowledge of Core Java
?      Capacity to take complex issues and explain them clearly and concisely to a wide audience.
?      Excellent communicator, able to work effectively with senior traders and other developers.
?      Understanding of eTrading generically
?      Understanding of workflows, key controls and related operational risk exposure.

 
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Ensure a robust high-performance application that follows best practice in terms of architecture, configuration and capacity planning.
• Full testing of new versions of software (including Unit, Regression and SI), conducting test plans, analysing results and drawing conclusions with the quant representatives.
• To work with Financial Engineers, Business representatives and Business Analysts to understand the business needs and design potential solutions.
• Manage the technical relationship with the external electronic market technology teams and internal development and connectivity teams.
