Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated Maintenance Electrician to join our client's team and provide crucial maintenance support within our high-volume animal food production environment. As a Maintenance Electrician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's production lines and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting on various production lines and equipment.
  • Carry out Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Routines using the site CMMS (PEMAC).
  • Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and safety regulations.
  • Plan and participate in the coordination of project works and planned shutdowns.
  • Carry out calibrations and recording of results.
  • Operate a permit-to-work system.
  • Liaise with other trades and contractors.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Support the Production Team in achieving targets.
  • Perform repairs on mechanical and control systems equipment, including pneumatics, steam, and hydraulics.
  • Keep work areas clean, including the workshop and stores.
  • Cooperate and participate fully in training and development in cross-skilling and other job-related competencies.
  • Be flexible if overtime is required.

Requirements:

  • Trades qualification with a strong Mechanical/Electrical background.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment (outside of apprenticeship).
  • Multi-skilled/cross-skilled ethos.
  • Aptitude for process awareness, with diagnostic/troubleshooting experience gained in a high-volume environment.
  • Good team player with the ability to use initiative.
  • Computer skills are an advantage.
  • Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality, Health, and Safety.
  • Familiarity with planned preventative maintenance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of high-speed mechanical systems, electrical systems, automation, and PLC-based control systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Additional Information:

  • Days role, but will require some flexibility in working hours; weekend working & callouts may be required to meet the demands of the site.
  • May be required to travel offsite on occasion for business purposes.
